Obama and his wife got power through the Chicago Dem machine. He became the protege of Emil Jones. Jones steered important committee assignments and placed Obama’s name on choice pieces of legislation (even though Obama did no actual work on them). In Chicago the unofficial motto of the city is ‘Where’s Mine?’. Obama ‘got his’ though his Machine connections. Michelle got a cushy job with the University of Chicago where once her husband got the US Senate position she receuved a huge promotion and raise.

These and other things gave the Obama the typical politician’s sense of their being above the masses. They played the game and the voters kept buying the BS. You have this same ‘political royalty’ in Detroit, New York, LA, etc. The ‘rulers’ feel they can do anything and the voters overlook reality and protect their ‘king’, even though the ‘king’ is corrupt and robbing the people blind.
