Where there’s smoke, there’s fire.

If there was nothing to the Panthergate story, the Administration would be happy to let him be exposed as a crank and a nutcase. That they instead turn to attacks is highly indicative that there’s something there that would be embarrassing to B-O.

Of course, any seasoned political operative would know the dangers of this sort of over-the-top attack, but that’s more indicative of the general level of incompetence in the B-O Administration.
