Deguello (#20):
Talk of impeachment is not only patently delusional, it’s just a demonstrably bad idea.
Sure, the Constitution specifically mentions “bribery” as grounds for impeachment, but consider: in order for that to happen, the House of Representatives has to vote articles of impeachment. Do you seriously think that a Democrat-controlled House, under Nancy Pelosi, will do that?
Then, once that hurdle has been passed, the Senate, by a 2/3 vote, has to convict. Do you further think that a Democrat-controlled Senate, under Harry Reid, will do that?
Finally, assuming that those two events occur, we are faced with the prospect of (you might want to sit down for this) President Joe Biden. And if that prospect isn’t frightening enough, take a look at who’s waiting in the bullpen after Biden: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.
Let’s face it: President Obama is safe as a kitten.
