No, there is way too much emotion on display here (vitriol and acrimony) when so little is known.

What if the denials of visas was meant to protect the Israeli scientists?

What if there is a concern that having the Israelis here jeopardizes negotiations with China, Russia, or some other country?

What if there are elements already within the US scientific or governmental apparatus that doesn’t want them here?

There are always reasons.

But no one knows what the circumstances are surrounding any of this.

As I said, all of this is very strange.

Jumping to conclusions is easy, but it is neither helpful nor advised.

There is no doubt that Mr. Obama has every appearance (and a growing record) of hostility toward Israel.

My sense is that there is more to the story.

“The rest of the story.”

Which, of course, we may never know.

Expectant observation is advised.
