Many of the comments here refer to the Democratic Party and the more obvious kinds of racism it promoted. Nineteenth-century “Radical Republicans” like Sumner and Stevens opposed political and economic racism; today’s “progressives” actively promote racism through tokenism, co-optation, and above all, “multiculturalism” understood as a bogus “anti-imperialism” that helps no one but themselves, certainly not non-whites who want to better their condition.
