Why the Democratic Party Clings to Racism

Many of the comments here refer to the Democratic Party and the more obvious kinds of racism it promoted. But there are subtler and more currently dangerous forms of racism that I describe here: http://clarespark.com/2010/04/08/racism-modernity-modernism/. Nineteenth-century “Radical Republicans” like Sumner and Stevens opposed political and economic racism; today’s “progressives” actively promote racism through tokenism, co-optation, and above all, “multiculturalism” understood as a bogus “anti-imperialism” that helps no one but themselves, certainly not non-whites who want to better their condition.
