No Mark – he has not. Please read my post (above). Nothing Obama has submitted as a birth certificate would be accepted as legal verification of birth by the military, for security clearances or (without some sort of special dispensation) for a passport. The only thing Obama has released is an unofficial hospital document that could not (by law) be accepted by any of the above agencies as evidence of anything.

But this isn’t even the strange element of this situation.

There is one “birth verification document” universally accepted by all the above agencies. A “certified copy certificate of birth” generated by a state’s department of vital statistics is the universally accepted document that proves place of birth, date of birth and parentage. The typical cost to generate this document is about $15, and in most cases it can be generated on the day of request.

Here is the interesting part. Not only has Obama failed to produce the one document that would remove all doubt – he has gone to court to prevent its production. He could end this debate today for $15 – he chooses to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to keep it open. I do not automatically assume that he was born somewhere other than where he says he was born – but there is something in this simple one page document that is worth TO HIM hundreds of thousands of dollars to conceal.
