This behavior has been on display by the left for a long time now. Recall the Florida recount mess. The Dem’s “knew” that Al Gore had won the election. The awkward fact the actual results said otherwise was an annoying detail, to be ironed out in accordance with the “greater truth”. Regardless of how people actually voted, they “knew” that most people wanted their candidate to win. Their refusal to accept reality in that case (and they still have not accepted it to this day) is of a piece with their behavior now. And of course is by itself sufficient reason to keep these people as far as possible from the levers of power.
