Somebody already compared the leftist ìreasoningî that content of the memos counts regardless of their provenance to the belief in authenticity of Protocols of Elders of Zion: ìafter all everybody KNOWS that Jews are taking over the world so the Protocols tell the Truth even if they were forgedî.

I always wondered how is it possible that the Protocols survived the exposure (in my naÔve youth I thought the EVERYBODY knew that they were fake, so case closed), as I always found Holocaust deniers incomprehensible.

Now I observe how it happened. It is fascinating to watch such psychological phenomenon on a mass scale, but it deals a deathblow to my former belief in universal human potential for rationality.
