We have to distinguish between the looney-left mentally disturbed Leftists & just plain liberals, the ”reasonable” & very respectable ”useful idiots” – it’s not the same phenomenon, let’s say the difference between Haaretz & The Jerusalem Post.
I think it’s very much the same as in the US – most Jews who voted for Obama are not far left ideologues, just liberals fooled by a con man.
Don’t ask me what I’d do in Netanyahu’s place – I’m a recent immigrant to Israel from an Arab/Muslim country & I not only have a different understanding of our nasty neighbors but I have few scruples about how to treat them. If Netanyahu follows Obama’s lead & tries to placate this creep, we are lost.
