Please set aside an intern or two to collate evidence of the indirect costs which FAR exceed the direct expenditures of corruption.
Those are the costs of societal detours such as:
no new refineries for 30 years, neglect of nuclear power for 40 years, no offshore drilling, no new field developments, limited exploration, 5-15% over-burning of gasoline due to catalytic converters, product price rises due to inane “smoke stack” over-regulation, cost of mutating educational materials, etc., etc.,…
— and the indirect-indirect costs such as future costs of miseducated generations, etc., etc….
