What can climate science do now? Exactly what it should have done long ago, it can create tens of thousands of measurement stations for temperature and for green house gas concentration, with special emphasis on carbon dioxide. These stations must be located on Earth’s surface and throughout Earth’s atmosphere including the stratosphere. After some 40 years of data collection by scientists who share the data with the public, climate science might have a leg to stand on. Otherwise, all we have is just more propaganda of the Jones Mann variety.

As regards measurement stations in the upper atmosphere, aircraft can be used for many but other technologies will be needed. Balloons are most likely not that technolgy; however, ballons can be used to make a point about what is needed. One can imagine a regular system of balloons that make reports by computer, that are recycled daily or weekly, and that keeps aloft several thousand ballons and any given time.
