I’m not holding my breath waiting for CBS to admit fault. About the most what we’ll ever see from them is a statement parroting the talking point being espoused by the DNC and their lackies like Juan Williams that the question shouldn’t be about the authenticity of the documents, the question should be about Bush was AWOL and Bush lied.
And at this point I don’t think it matters really. Once the rest of the MSM picked up on the story that the documents might be forgeries it broke through critical mass. Most everyone who’s been paying the slightest bit of attention knows about the forgery allegations and has made up their minds one way or the other. It’s too late for both CBS News and Dan Rather; their reputations have been damaged beyond repair with a significant portion of the population. And in fact the more they stonewall, the more they’re just cementing the opinions of those who believe they are lying throught their teeth.
And it’s not like they ever had much left to lose anyway when only 25% of the population has any trust in the media. Actually what I think this scandal has done is to finally and fully sever what last little bit of relationship a lot of us have had with the MSM. It has been like a marriage gone bad for a long time now. We’ve known it was over, but we were still going through the motions. But this is the last straw. Now we’ve filed for divorce and packed our bags, and we’re outta here. And we’re flipping the bastard the bird as we walk through the door.
