The flight physicals were a little more involved than what you hint at. They did the EKG, blood work, eye testing, and all the normal stuff. If you ever read the book “The Right Stuff”, they talk about how pilots hate physicals. Nothing good could come from them. There was only bad news (something didn’t look good) or neurtal news (you passed for another year).
