It is only because, the now grown-up, young woman in question would like this to be finally over that I think it perhaps should be let go. She has reached a civil settlement with Polanski and wishes to move on. She says she’s tired of it. I think I can understand that. This does not condone his actions or absolve him from responsibility but merely recognizes the situation “on the ground”.
