Roger, you know what the scary thing is? The fact that this election demonstrates to non-democratic, totalitarian states that you don’t need to actually control the press to get it to march in lockstep with you. You merely need the presence of sycopanthic sympathizers to proactively push your message. Hell, you don’t even need to interact with them beyond the minimum, cursory contact.

The only saving grace with America’s free press is that they’re able to jump off the bandwagon when the hoi-polloi gets agitated. Which is why I still would rather have it, but it’s not a panacea. At any rate, what a terrible thing to have taught potential foreign megalomaniacs.
