I don’t think that his Mormonism will be an issue that the Dems will really go after. It did not arise in Massachusetts. Belief systems tand to have their “odd” beliefs. Mary got pregnant how? Jonah did what? There may be a kind of generic sneer against fundamentalist religion, that GWB also got, but Romney is adept enough to deal with it. Believe or not, there is a certain kind of nastiness that the Dems know is counter-productive. What remaining “conservative” candidate anyone has in mind who is going to be more immune to lefty barbs and left hooks, I would like to know. It’s great that CFB and Fred can get their feeeelings out here, but in this case, they lead nowhere.
It’s pretty simple; if you want your best chance at winning, go with Romney. If you don’t, well you don’t, but we are likely to get another four years of you know who. But actually, since a lot of people would rather b*tch than win, it is really is a win/win, eh?
