Now hundreds of Catholic priests did naughty things to little boys,…

And there you have it, folks! Look back at what I said in post 77 about Leftist obfuscations when they realize they can’t win the argument on the merits. subreen now resorts to that old Lefty favorite: moral equivalence.

“But…uh…ummm…somebody white/Christian/conservative somewhere, sometime, did something wrong too, so…uh…ummm…duh…”

Here’s a little lesson in moral clarity for you, subreen: there is no moral equivalence – WHATSOVER – to be drawn between a few cases of sexual misconduct by Catholic priests (even if the number is in the hundreds) and cultures consisting of millions of people who condone the sort of behaviors I described above that are rampant in the Muslim world.

To illustrate, let’s try a little thought experiment. At the time that the Nazi’s were rising to power, the Ku Klux Klan was committing terrible acts of racist violence in this country. Now, according to your logic, that fact would preclude the US from having the moral standing to criticize – much less, fight – the Nazis…after all, if segments of our culture were doing bad things, then who were we to judge their culture. At the least, we should have been trying to “understand” the Nazis’ “perspective” on things.

Right?
