This is symptomatic of what is wrong with a section of US society. It is the rampant anti-intellectualism. The idea that people of learning, of intelligence, are somehow untrustworthy.

Jaz, since the context is journalism, who would be your fitting model for a learned, intelligent, and trustworthy source? Wolf Blitzer? Sorry, but that confused, dazed look that he wears like a second skin is a little offputting. Mizz Brown? I’d trust her recommendation on hair and skin products, but that’s about it. Smirking Shepard Smith? Shouting Bill O’Reilly? I could go on…

As another commenter has said, that piece by Joe was informative if not polished. Now we know that the Gazans are ripping up their infrastructure to make the bombs. Not sure how that enriches our lives any, but it should us pause to wonder if giving them aid to build a new sewer systmem is really a good thing.
