I remember the Duke LaCrosse incident, where the national press (not to mention nearly the entire academic establishment, including but not limited to most of the Duke faculty) with the complicity of a (later shown to be unethical and then disbarred prosecutor, Mike Nifong) pretty much tried to ruin the guys accused.

When “the dancer” was shown to be a baldfaced liar (she has subsequently had various other legal entanglements), do you think anybody apologized to those guys ?

I remember Evan Thomas’ comment (Evan is Newsweek editor and grandson of infamous socialist Norman Thomas)…

“The narrative was right, but the facts were wrong.”

Liberal preferred narratives will always trump truth.
