Happy Hanukkah!

Happy Hanukkah to you Roger.

I’ve de-composed a Christmas prayer
and it goes something like this.

Lord, this is my prayer
Not only on Christmas Day
But until I see Palin in
the White House
Or the Red Sox win again
(whichever comes last)
May I live my life this way:

Just like the city of Boston
I ever hope in the playoffs to be,
Gives us Teixeira bat
Trusting in Henry and Theo almightily.

And like the growing Celtics child
To the playoffs daily driving,
May I ever seek tickets to complement
My ESPN and MLB EXTRA watching.

Like the FANS so faithful
Let me follow in their light, paintface and bold
In your face and strong
Not afraid to face the Yanks.

Nor cowardly to suffer the loss
And stand for pointing blame alone,
Knowing next season Your kingdom
Awaits my Fenway home.

Not afraid to bunt and sacrifice
Though great may be the cost,
Mindful how Big Papi rescued us
From broken-hearted loss.

Like our defeated curse
The babe, the Sox, twice won,
May my life forever speak
Of who the Sox beat and all they’ve done.

So while the Phils may have won rejoice
And celebrate a new birth,
We treasure the Red Soxs, the greatest gift
Unequaled in their worth.

I long to hear opening day songs
Sweet Caroline – HO, HO, HO
Good times never seemed so good
SO GOOD, SO GOOD, SO GOOD.
I’ve been inclined – HO, HO, HO
To believe they never would
Oh, No, No

And may the Red Sox welcome others
Who will join with me in praise
Because I lived for the Red Sox
Not only during the winning Days
