Iran Will Not Have an Atomic Bomb. Period.

November 24th, 2013 - 7:35 pm

Speaking of which, Iran’s “right to enrich” is supposedly still under dispute, the Americans saying one thing about the language in the deal and the Iranians another. Some dispute. The prologue to the “interim” agreement states that the amount of enrichment will be decided in future negotiation, not (nota bene) whether enrichment will be allowed or not. (The specific language reads: “a mutually defined enrichment program with practical limits and transparency measures to ensure the peaceful nature of the program.” Uh-huh.) Meanwhile, Iran is able to enrich up to five percent, not the previous alleged maximum of 3.5%. Whatever happened to that other 1/5%? Confusing, no? Oh, well, that’s a long way from the 20% needed for weaponization.

No, it’s not. It’s not very much at all when you have 19,000 centrifuges. How much of a setback for the Iranian nuclear weapons program is this five percent permissible level then? According to the New York Times, about as pro-Obama a publication as you can get outside of a Chicago Democratic Party newsletter, the current agreement will retard the Iranian program only about one month.

One month? For this we give them oodles of desperately needed cash — seven billion on the face of it but some suggest that’s floating up to twenty — not to mention ending sanctions on such things as auto parts. This is great for Ayatollah Khamenei who, we have learned recently, owns the BMW distributorship in Iran.

Nevertheless, we are told by such wise men as Brent Scowcroft and Zbigniew Kazimierz Brzezinski that this is a good deal and we should jump at it. More specifically, these realists attest, this is the best deal we can get now.

Really? The Iranians came to the table because of sanctions. We are now lifting them and, simultaneously, encouraging others to think proactively about doing business with Iran, a potential gold (or oil) mine. We are also ratifying the hellacious Islamic regime of the mullahs that oppresses women, murders homosexuals and imprisons and tortures all those who oppose it. Forget human rights. What are they? America (really Obama in this instance) just wants a deal.

It’s not surprising. Obama never did anything for the Green Movement. Why should he care now, especially with his post-Obamacare numbers imploding? Anything to move the ball and distract the news cycle. So what if Ayatollah Khamenei called Israel a “rabid dog” about three days ago while the throng before him yelled “Death to America” and “Death to Israel”? It’s just a little hyperbole, right? He’s not serious. This isn’t Munich. This is a respectful negotiation between peers.

“No, it’s not,” I repeat, again obviously. This is the desperate move of a president in free fall, only it’s a move being made with millions of lives at stake. If the sanctions in place brought Iran to the table, why wouldn’t ratcheting up the sanctions, as Congress sought to do, get Iran actually to agree to dismantle its program, to shrink back the extraordinary number of centrifuges we know them to have, a number vastly higher than any peaceful nation could possibly need?

Now we will never know.

So we have left it all to Israel and, incredible as it may seem, Saudi Arabia to put a stop to this madness. What will they do? I wouldn’t want to be them. It’s no fun at all Perhaps a new prayer should be added to the Jewish liturgy. “Thank G-d I wasn’t born Benjamin Netanyahu.”

From the Iranian point of view they are standing on the deck of their battleship Geneva accepting the surrender of the Great Satan. Obama has essentially agreed to treat Iran as a normal country; the undeclared state of war between the US and Iran that has existed since Jimmy Carter has now been resolved -- called off -- by Barack Obama.

He's moving on. What the deal did was remove any notion of illegitimacy from the Iran government. It is now "normal", or more "normal". Whether this is true or false is a political judgment. But it would be less than honest to say that the Obama administration has not granted some form of acceptance to Iran. The question now is whether that judgment is correct or one which the administration will regret.

Oddly enough, Carter and Obama seem joined by destiny. Carter lost Iran; Obama has basically buried the hatchet. Carter became the patron of Egypt and Obama is releasing it to whichever new patron it might seek.

In the terminology of the New York Times this is a great achievement. Others would say he threw in the towel. Alan Dershowitz says it could be a "Chamberlain moment".

I was hoping it would be Wilt. But unfortunately I think he means Neville.

Doesn't obvious depend on who's looking? And what they see? AND who's telling them how to interpret what they see?

Educational principle used for example in Sesame Street and public education to "teach" The Young "Give me a child til he is five and he is mine for life".

The essence in the "Kindergarten" System. Teachers "Licensed" by the people in power at any given time. To teach what needs teaching.

Within the past half century THE accepted look at the world taught by the people in poilicy echelons of all civic institions up to and including graduate school. AND government was what they call liberalism.

But a new kind, a "New Age" liberalism that rebelled against "Old" liberalism. New liberals believed, though not saying so in public, that their "compasson" gave them carte blanche to do anything that would further their plans "For The Good of the People".

Whatever the means and whatever the costs to the People. To break some eggs to make their omelette.

Their actions modelled by their hierarchy since they became "the big boy on the block" have become increasingly de haut en bas do as we say not as we do.

Even when, or perhaps especially when, diverting substantially from the accepted social contract of the nation in which they "do their good".

BECAUSE as stated forthrightly by their present standard bearer BH Obama that contract LIMITS their actions "For the Good of The People". Those People cannot know what is good for them and MUST be taken in hand by the compassionates.

Occam's Rasor indeed. Sherlock Holmes. The obvious must be seen to be obvious.

Now during Obama's second term, his "After the election I can be more flexible" as off-mike comment during his tour of Russis, his declared intention to FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM THE NATION is becoming increasingly evident his true intent.

Whatever it takes whether or not consistent with THE LAW, the custom ,and the accepted social contract of that nation, its Constitution, to which elected as pre-eminent "representative".

Obama and his enablers actions look very like Blitzkrieg.

It is possible that Obama is the devil. Please tell me again how Americans voted this government in a second time, and how John Kerry is Secretary of State.

The US and the EU have just increased many-fold the chances of total war in the region. Israel will suffer, we may have ten thousand dead, but Israel will prevail. Afterwards, the repercussions (against us) will be significant. These too will pass.

American people, where have you gone? What have you wrought with this twisted Administration?

Larry in Israel - I am Lawrence in New York. I will try to answer your question. Israel will never express and realize its sovereignty and what its sovereignty requires as long as the Left is powerful or influential in the United States and, I imagine, in Israel.

No one in this country has any idea what the Iranians are up to - as hard as that might be to believe. The whole debate about what to do about Iran's nuclear program misses that we have no policy about what to do with Iran.

Iran calls the shots and we were have a government that reacts. The debates over the right reaction will get us nowhere unless, since we are reacting, we need to know what Iran is up to.

So things will limp along but far far far more dangerously for you. Purge your left mercilessly and beef up your military. While worrying about Iran's nuclear weapon give some thought about their acquiring lower yield atomic weapons - to use against your country.

Bless

As a retired Naval Officer I agree with the general tone of the article and commentary here, there is something very important that has been overlooked.

Read your (ancient) history. Israel has ALWAYS been betrayed by her allies. It was foretold by G_d Himself.

The reconstitution of Israel (19 centuries later), an event never equaled in history, was also foretold.

As much as I love my country, we are not, by and large, a God-fearing country any more. There is no reason for Israel to trust in ANY alliance today any more than in ancient times.

Their protector always has been, and always will be, the Lord Almighty. When Israel/Judah trusted in alliances, those ALWAYS failed. When they trusted in G_d, they were always protected. In one case they trusted God, assembled their army, marched out to meet three enemy armies, only to discover the enemies had annihilated each other. There was so much plunder to be taken that it took them 3 days to pick it all up.

Israel needs to return to G_d. So do all of us.

I think Israel, the United States and the mature Arab Sates have a common interest in destroying the Left. And if we do we move automatically closer to G_d's Kingdom here.

Despite what they call themselves, there really is no such organization (Chicago Democrat Party). It IS the Chicago Communist Party. Its time to call the Democrats what they are, NOT what they call themselves. They ARE the American Communist Party and there is nothing Democratic about them

In my mind's eye I see thousands of pallets and containers, filled with centrifuge parts, waiting for this moment in warehouses and yards, soon to be on their way to Iran, paid for with the dollars we just released.

This is not incidental or accidental.

Seeing how Iran is a fraction of the threat the Soviet Union was, it's pretty clear modern liberal politicians would've caved to the SU. Exactly what cards does Iran hold? None that I can see.

Their greatest future talent would seem to be providing some mental case with enough radioactive material to float a dirty bomb into some American or European harbor on a barge and then say "Wha... who? Not us!!!"

Will a liberal administration act on uncertain intelligence? You bet your life they won't. Simple: attack when a Dem is President. They're already on the run.

If Obama was President on 9/11 he would've scurried over to Oilsville to kiss and compare Koranic rings, apologized to Saddam Hussein for the Crusades, dissolved Israel, gave a speech where he said "I am not a racialst" and given orders to vice-president Al Sharpton to give the Taliban 877 trillion dollars in Halal Coca-Cola vouchers.

If he'd been President for Pearl Harbor he would've signed a retro-active non-interference pact with Japan and been firm that no "comfort woman" be asked to work for less than minimum wage. What a guy.

OBAMA'S 'FLEXIBILITY' AFTER THE ELECTION HAS ALLOWED HIM TO SCREW AMERICA AND NEGOTIATE FOR RUSSIA, CHINA AND IRAN.
This Geneva/Munich Agreement actually allows Iran to produce a nuclear weapon at a faster pace. This is because of the 19,000 Iranian centrifuges, about half aren't working (Stuxnet/age) and 1,000 are a new, more advanced type. These advanced centrifuges can turn enriched (3.5% or 5%, it doesn't matter) into weapon's-grade uranium much faster than before and much faster than what's being reported. Since this agreement allows Iran to replace worn-out centrifuges with new ones, once the advanced centrifuges are in place a nuclear weapon can be produced very quickly -- almost in a flash. This agreement also doesn't address the nuclear weaponizing of missiles. It's much weaker than the sanctions imposed by the UN, which was approved by China and Russia. Bottom line: Obama has given Iran everything it wanted -- and more. More than Russia or China would ever have believed or even have asked for.

The Agreement also doesn't allow IAEA inspectors into Parchin, where nuclear detonators are being produced, or the Arak heavy-water reactor, where plutonium is being produced. And there are probably many more reactors we know nothing about.
