Benghazi, Gaza, and the Killers of CNN
By participating in this pas de deux, the media are complicit with Hamas in that killing and maiming because it is done for them. It happens so the media can report it. They might be shocked to hear it, but if they stopped to think for a second, the media would realize that the war, on Hamas’ part anyway, would not exist if no one publicized it. Without publicity, Hamas couldn’t be less interested. And the Israelis, unprovoked, would never send a single missile into Gaza. Everyone knows that.
So Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and the others fight for the benefit of the media. That’s it. That’s their sole motive — to show Israel as brutal with the help of the press. They live for the Israelis to make a mistake — and if the Israelis don’t, they invent one.
By participating in this charade, the media are effectively racist, treating the Palestinians like “ignorant wogs” from the days of British imperialism, incapable of taking care of themselves or of making a decent society for themselves. The media portray the Palestinians as victims, therefore encouraging Palestinian victimhood.
They are also “objectively pro-fascist” in Orwell’s term, because Hamas is an Islamofascist organization and they are doing Hamas’ will.
CNN et. al. rarely report the obvious — that if Hamas devoted a tenth of the time and money to hospitals, schools, and other civic institutions that they do to amassing an arsenal of 12,000 missiles and whatever else, the Gaza Strip would flourish like a paradise.
For now we can thank Obama and Benghazi for keeping this murderous roundelay a bit in check. Evidently the ceasefire dickering has already begun. Apparently the Israelis have the temerity to be asking for a long one. I don’t know if that matters. Hamas and similar organizations live on hate — and hate lasts thousands of years. It has to be stopped at the core.
I have a different suggestion for the Israelis to start with one simple and basic demand — for Hamas to change its charter that calls for the extermination of Israel. Without that, what will have changed?

PS I do, however, have one bone to pick with Israeli Interior Minister Eli Yishai when he said, “The goal of the operation is to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages.” Israel should certainly defend itself, but it’s hardly necessary to send Gaza back to the Middle Ages, when Hamas is doing such a good job of it.
I assumme he meant we would help rebuild Gaza, and bring them forward into the Middle Ages from whatever prehistoric era Hamas has put them in.

There is a big, BIG, difference supporting Israel over Hamas instead of supporting Israel over Iran. The whole point of the very small Jewish revolt against Obama during the election was not because of the threat from Hamas, but the unchecked threat that was coming from Iran. Hamas’ threat is relatively tiny when compared to Iran, and Obama (as well as the rest of us) know it. But how will Obama support Israel once Iran gets its nuclear bomb? Will Obama simply treat Iran like just another Muslim state that has nuclear weapons, like Pakistan, or will this confrontation turn into another Cuban Missile Crisis, with the United States demanding that Iran disarm or face an American attack? We shall see, because Iran will probably have enough materials to make a nuclear bomb this year. Then we’ll see how close Obama wants to stand next to and by Israel. My guess is that, when it comes to nuclear war, not very close.

My only problem is his having asked Israel to count to 172800, instead of the usual 10, to send ground troops into the Gaza Strip. Why should they wait that long? What’s going to change? I should like to add a note to the idea of doing away with Hamas “to the core”. Here in Germany (where I live), the Allies sought to decisively defeat the German army during WW II–and did so very destructively. At the time Germans did not think that they were being “liberated”. Today in German documentaries on the invasion of the Americans and British into the homeland with all its bloody consequence, said destruction of a force of German evil is now called “liberation”. I repeat, at the time it was called “defeat”. But looking back at the nature of the ruling power and its perversion of loving death (which is also a Hamas theme derivative from “core” Islam), Germans of today see it all as “liberation”. I think Israel needs to “liberate” the Palestinians. A wish and nothing more. In German newspapers of the today there is a wish, alas, for Israel to make a deal with Hamas to stop the fighting. Anything but fighting. Germans never learn, alas. Polls have shown that the bulk of the German population is pacifistic, double alas.
Mr. Simon, I believe that CNN has long crossed the line from news to advocacy. Their biggest market at this time is, I believe, the arab world. Mideast commercials are almost the only commercials shown on CNN in Europe. They have numerous arab speaking journalists on the ground that are so pro/palestinian and so embedded with the palestinians and the arab world, that I believe CNN has to know these pictures are fake. These are not mistakes made through innocence or ignorance. They will show the fake pictures until someone else calls them on it.

I’ve got the solution: swap populations with Israel. American Jews voted overwhelmingly for Obama. Send them over to Israel to be sitting ducks. Bring Israel’s population — the group of people that built an oasis, in every sense of the word — over here. The supreme irony of Benghazi (for Obama) though, is that in the end it would not have mattered for his election if the American public had known it was terrorism or not. He didn’t even have to lie. They just didn’t care.
While conservatives felt secure in their belief that things like foreign policy and the ruined economy mattered in the election, the media had convinced a huge portion of the electorate that what mattered most were the concerns of a baby-faced, thirty-something year old graduate student who was so outraged over paying for her own birth control pills that she was actually willing to appear on national television before Congress to explain that as an unmarried woman it was the responsibility of the taxpayers to pay for her sex life.

The forces to protect the genocidal HAMAS are already in full array. Whether it’s the abominable CNN, the BBC, CBC (the latter — days ago was already interviewing its pro-terrorist, antisemitic “guests”, one of whom is regularly trotted out to provide his hate-filled bile), the media I’m seeing is certainly not toning down their hatred of Jews and Israel. It is in full terrorist love mode. (I think it’s more prevalent now than in years past — it’s grown worse.perhaps it’s due to Canada’s immigration policies, and the non-Muslims are terrified, etc). I think Israel should whatever is necessary to eliminate the threat in Gaza — and operate on the principle that they have no “allies”.

If the Palestinians had not allied themselves with Nazi Germany and by doing so explicitly recognized Aryan racial superiority it is very doubtful the Left would care so much about them. I suggest that the lack of support for Israel stems from two sources: One, the millennia-old hatred of Jews (Hebrewphobia?), and the desire of countries, especially Islam infested Europe, not to be on the wrong side if and when Islam prevails against non-Muslim countries, especially the United States. And the U.S. has been hot and cold in its support almost ever since the country was established by Truman, the U.S. and the UN in the 1040′s, definitely more so since the advent of Obama’s regime.
An addendum: The Jews also invented (or were given) the six Commandments that deal with murder, stealing,lying, coveting, etc., which puts a real crimp in the actions of a whole lot of people outside the Judeo-Christian community, and even some inside it, I might add.

The Jews are to blame for the fact that there is almost no industry, only rudimentary agriculture, and, really, no economic future whatsoever for the hundreds of millions of Muslims who live their narrow squalid lives there.

Given Obama’s cease fire deal, I don’t think conservatives owe Obama an apology at all. That Obama would exact a “pay back” for his slimy words of “support” (immediately followed by sending Hillary out, so as to pressure Israel into suicidal concessions — Obama is no better than HAMAS) — this once again illustrates Obama’s Chicago-style politics.
