playing basketball in the park led me to conclude that a finesse game was the product of skill,while victory was often the product of intimidation….the nba has long ago incorporated quasi martial arts and ghetto machismo into the game,perhaps, to accomodate the tv gurus. add a few exceptions to all rules for a few “stars”.yes my friends it looks a lot like pro wrestling…the last honest sport.
no surprise to me that the BIG O loves it… community organizers and
some screen writers shoot hoops…I might be wrong about wrestling…
politics in america…the last honest sport?

Be careful what you wish for! Remember, Kim Jung-Il shot 38 under par the first time he ever played golf, and got several holes-in-one. Who’s to say he wouldn’t be just as good at basketball?

Dreamer, I think Obama set the tone when he demanded that the congress pass a stimulus bill without any debate because it was too important to do it right, and then flew home to Chicago for a three day weekend of barbeques and night clubs before returning to Washington the following Tuesday to sign it.

If you are going to ignore the existential threats of the age, why not doing it in style?

Why is it so easy to deride Kim Jong-Il and Ahmadinejad for their diminutive stature, and so hard to recognize BHO for his grandiloquent emptyness? Style over substance should be the specialty of Hollywood. Do we need to live life as if it was a movie?

How is it that BO has time to watch b-ball and play golf today? One hopes he is at least TiVo’ing the playoffs to leave enough time to decide what new artwork to install in the White House and deal with North Korea, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Venezuela and maybe a smidge left for the economy.

Agree with both of you, suggestion & analysis. I often wonder why Kim Jong II uses the klapping of hands and what his message might mean when doing this, then I remember “Jack Soo” in the musical “Flower Drum Song” when he told the story of stopping the problem confronted and klapped his hands killing the fly, is this Kim Jongs message to the free world, ” we will squash the enemy”? I wonder?
