Another embarrassment -- PJ's Israel correspondent, Joe the Plumber:

<blockquote>"People don't understand the dictionary—it's called queer. Queer means strange and unusual. It's not like a slur, like you would call a white person a honky or something like that. You know, God is pretty explicit in what we're supposed to do—what man and woman are for. Now, at the same time, we're supposed to love everybody and accept people, and preach against the sins. I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children. But at the same time, they're people, and they're going to do their thing."</blockquote>

"Meanwhile, on a more serious matter (what’s sports, after all?… a distraction)"

What could possibly be more important than the Rockets beating the Lakers? They key to the series may be the development of point guard Aaron Brooks. He has the unfortunate habit of being inconsistent. Brooks might need another year of experience. But if he truly is ready now---the Rockets should win the championship. We will see.

(Not about the Lakers) Your book review was great. We need more literature and movies portraying real and believable struggles against thuggish thought police. This legal thriller would be a great movie: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124121851177078835.html

<i>caused by Kobe Bryant’s sore threat, but it sure looked like a more serious problem than that</i>

Opps, look like Roger may have a sore wroth.

Sounds like the book by Klaven has been a noble pursuit and I am grateful for it. I have had many discussions over the years with my son on dealing with uber-liberal teachers and their attempts to mold student opinion to match theirs.

I'm not a big BB fan until it gets into the playoffs. Last night at the end of the game they did an interview with Ming, and I was amazed that the guy spoke with less of an accent then I thought he would have had.
