Kobe scored only 27 in the second half to go with his 34 in the first, making 61 on his highway, revisited or not. That’s 6 more than Jordan’s fabled double-nickel (55) against the Knicks and one more than Bernard King’s 60 for the most points ever scored in a basketball game in the current Madison Square Garden. And the thing is – Bryant didn’t seem like he was breaking a sweat. It was as if he could do this every night if it were the object of the game, to score the most points individually. On one thing Obama is surely right – Kobe Bryant is the best basketball player in the world.
