I think we all need to be grateful that Mr. Morford stoops to tutor all of us unwashed on sundry topics. If it wasn’t for his gimlet-eyed analysis, I’d have never known that the $1,800 I got from the Treasury was totally illusory. That must mean the 46″ LCD HDTV it helped buy isn’t really sitting in my bedroom right now and my kids aren’t enjoying Spongebob on it.

Thank you, Mark, for all of your insights. Now I’m off to cling desperately to my firearms and Bible as I grind my teeth at the meaningless torpor of my flyover existence.

Morford appeared in the S.F. Comicle just as their subscriptions started to really slide. He is symptomatic of a really ill institution that has completely lost its journalistic rudder.

This pitiful little article is very representative of the lack of any sort of insight, balance or value that the paper suffers from on a daily basis. I know a lot of people who subscribe for the sports section with the remainder of the paper going into the recycling bin on the way from the driveway to their front doors. The good news is that on its present revenue trajectory, the Comicle may not even be around to see the end of the next president’s term!

Not knowing at the time that this hateful idiot was in habit of writing frequent ignorant screeds, I actually emailed him yesterday to set him straight on the facts about Mrs. Bush and the twins.

That’s 10 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. My time would have been better spent trying to teach my dog algebra.

Not surprising that he contrasts Laura Bush with Teresa Heinz Kerry. Teresa, “weird and wordly”–”totally nuts” is more like it. (My personal belief is that she hated the thought of being First Lady so much that she sabotaged Jean Francois’s campaign at every opportunity. Her sigh of relief at her husband’s defeat could be heard all the way out here in flyover country.)

Anyway, this column is just more red meat for the liberal San Francisco community–where of course, eating actual red meat is a hate crime.

Morford is one of the mass media’s shining examples of a hypocrite. While claiming to hold liberal values of tolerance and understanding, he’s the biggest bigot around; his bigotry is simply not aimed at the standard “Archie Bunker” targets.

His understanding of christians and conservatives is every bit as stereotypical as the KKK’s understanding of African-Americans, and every bit as ignorant.

He’s no liberal. He’s a hater. And in being so, he’s far more (as you put it Roger) reactionary than any of the phantom bugaboo’s he tills at. This comment from one of LaShawn Barber’s posts criticizing a different Morford piece totally sums it up:

“What a bitter man. His words reveal a very bitter angry man. He has become what he knows he should not be (a hateful bigot). He turns one case into blanket generalizations that are hurtful, not helpful.

I bet his sphere of influence loved it and are reinforcing his groupthink with lots of kudos and parroted justification for being “mean” in their definition of the ÔøΩrightÔøΩ way to be mean.

One has to wonder what kind of hurt is driving that bitterness.”
