No, I didn&amp;#8217;t go anywhere near Everest (or near that high) though we did have a sherpa who had been a guide on Everest expeditions&amp;#8211;a delightful fellow with a Buddhist smile.  It&amp;#8217;s an unforgettable experience, if you ever get a chance to do it.  Just stay clear of the Maoist guerrillas.
