The Washington Post is the house organ for the DNC. The LA Times <a href="http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-surge4sep04,0,3817546.story?coll=la-home-center" rel="nofollow"> does what it can to catch up </a> but it is just no contest. The WaPo is the Democrats cheerleader.

"The Republicans have a lot of work to do but their leading candidates are so much more substantial in their broad real-life experiential backgrounds than any of the Democratic candidates."

The last United States senator to be elected president was John F. Kennedy---and he barely squeezed by Richard Nixon. Americans consider senators as essentially do nothing blow-hards. Governors and mayors of cities with populations of 8 1/2 million people actually have to earn a living. This is another strong reason why Rudy Giuliani has a strong edge over Hillary Clinton and Barak Obama.

Yep, I saw this article and its wish fulfillment aspects jump out. It's probably a good summary of local political positions now but is ignorant of larger issues and presidential dynamics including who the candidates are per se. The Republicans have a lot of work to do but their leading candidates are so much more substantial in their broad real-life experiential backgrounds than any of the Democratic candidates. I think the Republicans have a very good chance based on this difference.
