Myself, I'd like a fresh face to win the Republican nomination. John Cox, a businessman from Illinois, has a great platform. He favors an approach to Iraq that emphasizes economic development, a three-pronged approach to fixing our broken borders (build the fence, punish businesses hiring illegals, and ease the process of naturalization), and wants to pass the Fair Tax to replace our current system of taxation. Check out his site:

My gut tells me neither McCain nor Giuliani will be the nominee. The astute Republican Gov. of Massachusetts will not be denied. Look at his video on his web site. He has the perfect resume. I do not think evangelicals will have a problem with his religion when they consider the alternative.

We who post here better get ready for life in 2008 and that involves coming to terms with a less conservative version of the president. I have never been a fan of McCain, but he seems to be the frontrunner and the GOP tends to preselect a candidate and then anoint him. George Allen is having his own problems with reelection and the glare of the press. Rudi is fine and best TV guy in politics, but I have not heard that he is out there campaigning.

McCain as a senator is tied to the business of Washington but he will be a candidate and he will win. His deal with the president has apparently not alienated the White House and will allow him to pose with the president and placate the far right.

McCain shot himself in the ass. His chances for POTUS are now less than they were.

If we get hit again and it turns out that the information was sitting in a cell but could not be retrieved because of fear of the Geneva Convention, I believe efforts will be directed at running him out of office faster than a melting Ben & Jerry's at an Arizona desert in July.

I will never, never, ever, ever, ever, vote for McCain as POTUS. I just don't trust him. He seems too much of a flim-flam salesman to me. Now, Giuliani . . . he's my man all the way! Should he declare candidancy, I will do my best to get him elected.

I think this thing got out of hand on them in a hurry. People are debating as to which side caved. Maybe both did a little bit just to get on with things.
