To amuse myself, I've actually been a registered Green for quite a while. (I actually considered myself an environmentalist before the activists I knew discovered global warming religion and started going to International ANSWER rallies.) I get interesting campaign literature from time to time, but have been considering shifting registration to Republican. Not that I'm overly impressed with the national Reps, but the state Reps need all the help they can get...

I voted against everything that would have raised taxes; there was a craftily written sales tax increase on the ballot here in SiliValley that would have kicked in with a 50%+1 win, that fortunately went down in flames. I figure that since federal and state taxes are my biggest single expense, they don't need any more money from me.

As for politicos, there wasn't much for me to vote for; the Green Party primary isn't terribly interesting...

For once my congressional race is actually interesting. I'm in the 36th district, in which until recently Jane Harman has been unassailable. Now, however, she's facing a challenge from a "real Democrat" (read: Howard Dean/MoveOn.org/CodePink wing), and it's a strong one. As a Republican, my party has a snowball's chance in this district, but I'll be interested to see the Democratic primary results tomorrow.

You might want to consider changing to Independent. I found out today that I could choose which party ballot to vote on, or just vote on the non-partisan issues. So I picked Republican, as there were more races there that I thought were significant. So you can wait and see where you think your vote would do the most good.

I suspected it and then, well, then you had to go and prove it...

What was the line?

"blonde teeth, blonde hair... blonde mind."

Scratch a serious liberal and you get... a liberal. Hey, if it amuses you, why not do it?

There was something about hobgoblins and little minds...

And in Hollywood we have such Great Big... minds, after all.

Lecture on, padre. So long as it is amusing.

Don't want to tell you how or for whom to vote for.

But don't vote for Angelides since I'd like to keep as much of my income as possible and since he's being chased by every left leaning yokel here in California.

And no on 82. Another anti keeping the money you earned agenda item of the left.

Change your party affiliation it will do you good.

Hate to say it but your posting are starting to show a tilt to the left.

Ciao as they say

I know the feeling. Still a reg'd dem here in Oaktown, CA. Usually I study the ballot and literature received in the mail. This time around only voted for two things: Moonbeam and his replacement (Oakland mayor). Otherwise, couldn't pull it for tweedle dee or tweedle dum. Will just have to wait 'til Nov and do the Ahnold thing...

Shockingly, Jerry Brown is almost as old now as Reagan was when he became President.

Geez, "Moonbeam" is still around foisting himself off on the unsuspecting public?

Doesn't he have a mothership or an ashram to report to?

Whatever floats your boat, Roger.
