I have been heartened (and surprised) to discover that - at the very least - Europe seems to expect Hamas, now that it has been given the chance to pursue political power democraticaly, to renounce the violence that Europeans saw as provisional. It's clarity time. Europe has viewed Hamas and other Palestinian terrorists as desparate victims responding to intolerable provocation.

I have been heartened (and surprised) to discover that – at the very least – Europe seems to expect Hamas, now that it has been given the chance to pursue political power democraticaly, to renounce the violence that Europeans saw as provisional.

It’s clarity time.
