As difficult as it maybe for some folks to understand the Kurds really are grateful they were not wiped off the face of the earth.

And if not for the United States Saddam would have been more than happy to do just that.

The movie behind the “relationship with the west” tab appears forthright. We screwed ‘em in 91, but later made good. Hope we never make that mistake again.

Way to go IVV, crap on anything positive. If, as you suggest, they are doing good work, should I worry, in particular, about their nationality? Did I miss a claim made that only native Kurds were involved?

And, yes, in some odd and transcendent way, Merril Lynch is the voice of America.

Hmmm... IVV, would that make it similar to Hmong National Develpment, Inc., or maybe the National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development, or perhaps any of the regional development organizations one can find here.

If Kurdistan, that was actually liberated by Bush 41, and the United Nations, in spring 1991.

Sadly, no. The 8 board members of the KDC, mandated to drum up investment in Kurdistan, are made up of 4 Brits, 1 German and 3 Americans.

It’s not to say they’re not doing good work; I’m sure they are. But to somehow represent this as the voice of the “The Iraqi Kurds” is like saying an ad by Merril Lynch is the voice of America.
