If this is the best the CIA can do no wonder people can fly planes into buildings in Manhattan without the CIA having a clue as to what the hell is going on.

They are too busy go after Bush to waste their freaking time on terrorists.

I did not watch one TV news show on Sunday.

And I did not miss a thing.

This won't help Bush but it won't do the CIA and the media any good either. The CIA looks incompetent and the media is doing its egomaniac it is all about me thing again. So annoying.

Once upon a time...

It's not like nobody expects, oh wait, that's the Spanish Inquisition!

Glenn stumbles into something potentially interesting and thinks it makes the CIA look bad/ inept? Au contraire.

I like to think they've recovered from all the evil consequences of all that evil Congressional meddling when the evil JC was ineffectively leading the country.

But that's just me.

It needs to be said, yet again: the CIA is a failed institution, rotten to its core. Raze it the ground and start over.

Glenn is right; CIA ineptitude screams from

the nepotistic appointment of Ambassador Joe, to the absence of a confidentiality agreement to the inept post op ed CIA non action; all of which leaves one scratching its head.

The talk shows today were filled with media back stopping itself and bashing Bush; Russert on "Meet the Press," blasting the president and vice president with clips from 2000 talking about an administration committed to telling the truth. ABC, with Stephanopoulos, with Matt Cooper telling the nationwide audience his side of the Libby case, "No, I don't recalling telling Libby that." A far cry from a complete denial. "60 Minutes" ran with Ambassador Joe interviewed by Ed Bradley giving a one sided rendition of his wife's victimhood. What got to me was Russert tho; are we going to be force fed listening to his version of what Libby and he talked and did not talk about?

There is no appreciation that each should shut their mouths until trial and allow credibility to be determined in court, not in their one sided media side shows. Russert and Cooper are principal and crucial witnesses in a major indictment highly interested in establishing their credibility, as witnesses, versus Libby's credibility as a defendant charged with a crime. This inherent adversarial position to Libby is a major factor ignored by the press.

I just wish Glenn wouldn't use so much legalese. I know he's a law prof but how are us common folk supposed to be able to make heads or tails of a statement like this:

the popular theory that the CIA couldn't find its own weenie with both hands and a flashlight would appear to have found some pretty strong support.

I mean, there are so many ways that sentence could be interpreted with regard to the CIA's scurrilous behavior in this. Not to mention the fact that it doesn't seem to apply to Mrs. Wilson, although it certainly does describe her husband to a T.

Plus the "appear to have found support" clause is weak. I'd say that the Plame Game is proof positive that the CIA couldn't find its own wienie with both hands and a flashlight. It's a QED situation if ever there was one.
