They know soldiers who have been hurt or killed and even though our soldiers may believe in the mission the Middle East is not a place most of them want to be. I pointed out to my brother that they are soldiers in a voluntary military and they have a job. He said he did not think most of them minded doing their duty, but their duty did not include rock throwing teenagers and irate civilians. And there is no doubt that films like F911 and anti war people like Dean are hard on troop morale. War is not any fun and it is worse if a substantial part of the population is telling you that you are either a baby killer or are being played for a sucker. Take your pick.

That is why I blame people like Michael Moore and Barabara Boxer, they are using the natural aversion most people feel for war for self serving reasons and they are dishonest about their message.

The StevieJ’s and the Boxers of the world just don’t understand the internet age. They cull out a press secretaries comment and jump up and down on their soapbox and yell”smoking gun, smoking gun”. They are too dense to realize that all the speech’s that the administration made that included non-WMD arguments are a google or hyper link away and the original texts that proove them to be wrong are available for everyone. Boxer gets her 10 second soundbite where she refers to the resolution the congress voted on as being about only WMD and is either too dense or uniformed to know that the resolution is available to anyone and the text of it shows her to be either a moron or a fraud. The days of being able to say anything on TV and not have it fact checked in seconds are over.Ask Dan Rather. The dems will continue to bleat on about WMD’s for the next 4 years and they don’t realize that the majority of the country has moved on and is concerned about other things. Just as they held onto Florida 2000 and thought that was going to get them back into the White House they will ride the WMD tangent to another 2nd place finish in 2008.

More importantly pulling that scumbag out of the spider hole led to the voluntary dismantling of Libya’s surprisingly advanced nuclear program AND the discovery of the A.Q. Khan nuclear “supermarket”.

So taking out Saddam needs to be seen in a broader context than “no WMDs were found, therefore OIF was a mistake”. It needs to be juxtaposed against the real world consequences of leaving him in power and the resulting chain of events that would have left three extremely dangerous forces in the ME unchecked.

The fact that the left refuses to face this boneheadedly obvious conclusion for purely partisan reasons, despite the danger to American lives (including their own as well as their families) reaffirms the desperate need to keep them as far away from the levers of power as possible.

Dr. Rice is not a woman to be trifled with. The likes of Babs Boxer calling her a liar surely did not sit well with her.

I didn’t have the good fortune of seeing any of yesterday’s fiasco while in the company of my wife and daughters, but I have had that pleasure in the past and just chuckled while hearing comments like, “Damn, she’s GOOD!”, “Whoever that idiot is he really ought to shut up ’cause she’s kicking his ass!”, and “Gee, it all makes sense when she explains it.”
