The answer, as you all guessed is B) but it was on Dec. 16, 1998 when the only Party deserving power was holding the White House.

And I think the Democrats are underestimating how annoying they are. If I have to hear one more snarky little comment about how they are going to take that gloves off I will spit up…I mean what is left? Burning crosses on the White House lawn or what?

But I mean it, guys like Moore are good at editing mockumentaries and creating a false impression but if they think they can prove Bush went to war for a nonexistant pipeline or a war time contract for Halliburton or because Bush is related to the Saudi Royal family then they should sic Peolosi on it rather than making movies.

Yes, I noticed that itchy trigger finger of the Democrats. I take it as 90% bluff, though. When your lawsuit is ready before anything even happened, it might just be hot air.

And I did indeed (and still do) think that the SBVT were confident *because* they had truth on their side.

John O’Neil taught me to have a great deal of respect for lawyers, respect I had not had before. Several legal blogs added to that, of course.

I’ve been wondering what’s happening with the SBVT. John Kerry got away with far, far too much. Not just endangering the troops in that war, not just slandering the reputations of so many innocent men–he helped create the War about War that we’re still having.

The version I always heard had a camel instead of a frog, and the scorpion’s final response was “Because this is the middle east, stupid!”

The Democrats emitted or threatened to emit lawsuits at a tremendous rate. They aimed them at the stations that were to broadcast the commericals, and at John O’Neil, and who knows who else. My understnding as of yesterday was that they were still going after O’Neil.

Truth is the best defense against slander, but when billionaires are willing to throw huge numbers of lawyers from big law firms, in multiple suits, against you, the cost to defend yourself – such as the discovery efforts – can be enormous. I have information that causes me to believe that they did and are doing this to John O’Neil (the topic gives a hint as to why I worded this posting in a certain unusal way).

Today’s Democrats and their supporters are, by their actions, making it clear that they have no interest in the concept of free speech. That they would continue this arfter the election is especially galling.

They may be doing this partly because they fear that if they don’t win the suit, Kerry will be unable to run for President in 2008, and likely to lose the Senatorial re-election. If they don’t win such a suit, the opponents can claim that the charges were held valid in court (which would not necessarily be true, btw), a powerful political point.I suspect some is revenge, especially since I believe Kerry’s campaign manager said that not responding to the SBVT was the biggest mistake, implying that the SBVT pushed the election past the tipping point to Bush. Also, there will be one or more campaignsto unseat Kerry on various grounds (treason, 14th Amendment, felonious behavior in the peace movement, whatever).

I am not a lawyer, but it is my understanding that to get a slander judgement against a publicly known figure, you have to prove both that the facts were untruthful and that the slander was a result of actual malice (which means among other things, I believe, that you have to prove that the slanderer knew that the facts were false), not just carelessness. I would suggest that Bush has a good case against certain people at CBS.

I think basing an entire anti-war platform on the ridiculous notion that George Bush is as bad as Hitler dooms you to failure long term. Nobody believes Bush is gassing Jews and burning books, do they ? And yet, I swear to God, some people I have known for a long time, rationale educated people tell me “It was all about oil”. And then they stop, and look at me, like they’re saying “Ccome have a sip of my koolaid.”

Also, does anyone else find it incredible that the Human Rights Commission ranked Abu Ghiraib (panties) right up there with Darfur (mass murder of a people)?
