M. Simon Yep, Cantor's is still holding down its corner on Fairfax... or as the parody song put it:

Ve gotta rock onto

Fairfax Avenue!

You never saw such knishes!

Ve gotta rock onto

Fairfax Avenue!

It's where I get my salted fishes!

Forgot something...

Namely, a bit of the town of Encinitas fell of into the ocean. Heard about it on the KGB morning show. Yes, California is falling into the ocean. It's just taking its own sweet time about it. ;)

Down here roads are getting flooded out that don't get flooded out in a regular storm. Fortunately, the big waves didn't show up, so no shots of Mission Beach getting hit by 'em on tv.

As I type things look wet outside, but no sign of precipitation. So I think we're getting drizzle right now. But last I heard today is supposed to be as bad as yesterday.

For everybody in Arizona, a bit of good news. Namely, it's heading your way. You sent us some rain back last summer, so we're returning the favor now. :)

It took me 90 minutes to get from Woodland Hills to Glendale this morning. It would be sensible for quite a few people in my office to work from home today (Santa Clarita to Los Angeles basin train are not running, and the road really bad).

It was intense in OC, too, sky black as night at 3:30 and torrents of rain, runoff swirling down the street and over the parkway. *gulp*

John Moore _ Want to piss off the treehuggers? Tell them George Bush assumed the throne of the Fisher King in November and that's why the rain came back.

Of course, this current mess is because Boxer pissed him off over Ohio...

I assume that Malibu is inaccessible.

Please feel free to send the rain over to the area east of Phoenix. Our main reservoir is only at 40%.

Meanwhile, thanks to Jimmy Carter and some environmentalists, two water storage dams don't exist. The result is a lot of water flowing through Phoenix (an unusual occurrence) and ultimately to the Gulf of California.

Meanwhile, the drought, according to the climatologists, still has a decade or more to go. This winter seems to be an El Nino exception to it.
