Hmmm.

The most remembered movie of 2004 is The Passion of the Christ.

As long as Moore doesn't get an Oscar I will be happy.

But Charles Krauthammer loves Sideways. I have heard him mention it twice.

Ten years from now the most remembered movie of 2004 is going to be...

My guess is that it will be The Polar Express.

I haven't seen The Aviator yet. Otherwise, I agree regarding Eastwood though I wouldn't be surprised if either Scorcese or Payne won.

Finally saw Mystic River. Agree with Roger that Kevin Bacon stole the show (in fact, I think Penn's and Robbins' Oscars were gimmes). Clint Eastwood is a superb director, but there are times when I find his movies strangely uninvolving (eg.The Unforgiven and the aforementioned Mystic River). Perhaps those require multiple viewings--I find that's sometimes the case.

Sorry to read that Johnny Depp was out of this depth. From what I've seen of his work, I thought he had great "depth" potential.

Doing the insomniac thing tonight.

"While I admired the acting ó Paul Giamatti (American Splendor) and the unknown to me Thomas Haden Church..."

Thomas Haden Church played Lowell Mather on the 90's sitcom "Wings", the most underrated comedy since the first two seaons of "Parker Lewis Can't Lose"!!!

Well, sorry, Roger, but if you're not gonna put your clout as an Academy member behind getting Zapped! 3 ó The College Years made, you're just gonna have to settle for Sideways...
