Soldiers like Rob make me proud to be an American; their sacrifices and dignity remind me that I ought to be more humble.

Thank you for the link, Roger, and Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas Roger!

I'm not surprised that soldier Rob, fresh from surgery, thought to reassure Don Rumsfeld. Our soldiers are truly America's best!

Only if America quits in Iraq like we did in Vietnam would Rob's sacrifice be useless. I also say "No more Tets."

I was 15 during the Tet offensive. I was too young and did not have the resources to understand how we pulled defeat from the jaws of victory. During the late seventies, I personally witnessed the consequences of this folly, e.g., the boat people, as a member of the US Seventh Fleet. However, I have learned my lesson. After reading about Rumsfeld in Mosul, I have made a simple pledge for the coming year: "No more Tets." I will do all that I can to make sure that the loony left and the M$M do not succeed again in finding defeat in a hard-won victory.

Finally, kudos to Roger for a wonderful blog. I enjoy it immensely and thank you for your efforts.

Wow! That story made me tear up. Don't be doin' that to a little old lady, Roger. I saw all the streaming video on CNN yesterday morning about 6 a.m. and Rummy was getting a great reception from the troops and I actually saw two soldiers in seperate cities get up and ask questions like in Mosul a) Why aren't the mainstream media getting out the story of the good things that are happening and that the military are doing? Why is it only the bad stuff? And later in Tikrit a young marine asked him b) Do the American people have the patience to wait it out while the military does their job and takes care of business? Because the military can do it, but if the American people start to cave, then the military won't have the support and can't get the job done and the consequences will be horrific?

I also notice that Rummy can't use his hands due to arthritis and since it appeared to be quite chilly yesterday morning in Mosul when he was addressing the troops, I'm just guessing but I figure he's had the automatic-pen signing letters to save him the pain of writing by hand. He couldn't use his fingers yesterday except as flippers sort of all fingers together moving from the third joint only. Right away I spotted the signs of advanced arthritis which often makes the hands look angular and elegant (Rummy's 'hand style') right before it cripples the patient.

Where do we find such men?

In our families, and the homes of our neighbors. We are citizens.

Such a simple word.

Merry Christmas to all, and good night.

Roger:

That made me cry.

Have a nice time. I am getting ready to go to bed in hopes Santa will come, if he does not freeze to death trying to get here.
