The name issue is interesting. I always assumed people preferred to Dr Rice as Condi because they couldn’t remember how to spell her name.

I remember when Margaret Thatcher was PM of the UK. Supporters of her sometimes refered to her as Maggie whereas her opponents generally called her Mrs Thatcher or just Thatcher.

I notice in the comments section of the blobs people often refer to “Dr Rice”. Generally as a mark of respect. As none of us are personally aquainted with the lady perhaps we should address her as Dr. Rice.

Incidently the lefty feminists alwasy hated Margaret Thatcher…first PM of Britain 25 years ago and not only the first PM of a major country but one of the most important female leaders ever

I recall around April watching a Los Angeles Times panel on C-span entitled ‘Manufacturing Fear: American Culture Today’

One of the panelists was Michael Ignatieff. Answering a question Ignatieff went on a rant about Condoleezza Rice and how she “does the bidding of her masters”.

Mr. Ignatieff did catch himself saying something to the effect “that didn’t come out right”.

I didn’t hear any outcry over Mr Ignatieff’s remarks. I can only assume Ignatieff is left of center politically. So, it’s ok.

The Political Correctoids have not,as yet realised that there is a new paradigm,that they have lost,all that is left for them is to tend their wounded,bury their dead and move on.This creed has slimed its way across Western culture like some political incarnation of the Blob,it has allowed the overeducated unintelligent to stifle debate with moral outrage and personal affront.It is now time for mopping up operations,every time Correctoid transgresses they should be jumped on with the same ferocity that they used on their opponents.It is surprising hoe vulnerable these people are to their own tactics,I have tried it,a joyful experience.

As a side bar it should be pointed out that Dr Rice will have had more administrative experience by 2008 than the hapless John Kerry and Hilary Clinton put together.

I assume it doesn’t surprise anyone here to see such blatant racism by the Left. The worse offense to a Leftist is a minority that does not know his or her place – the back of the Democrat bus. The viciousness of these cartoons tells us a lot about the sole of the Left. It is filled with hatred for any minority who has the audacity to actual think for himself or herself. The fact that Dr. Rice is both black and a woman just compounds the offense. You notice that it required Colin Powell to leave the Bush administration before he could regain his status as a respected minority by the Left.

I refer to President Bush as “W” or just “Bush” and I have immense respect for him. I believe most people just refer to Dr. Kissinger as “Kissinger” or “War Criminal.” I don’t think there is any disrespect involved with calling Dr. Rice “Condi”.

Oh, come on. Everyone knows that only whites can be racist, and only conservatives can be intolerant, vicious, sexist, blah blah blah.

I found the cartoon to be disgusting, and reeking of the worst of racist stereotyping. Which is OK, in this case, because the subject is a conservative and therefore the rules don’t apply.

The New Democratic Party is not only racist, it is sexist, anti-Semetic, and personifies the term “intolerant”. Not to mention arrogant, in its supremely arrogant posture that the rest of us are just too dim, too unsophisticated, and too unworthy to really understand what they are all about.

BUT… how many of the posters here have referred to Dr. Rice by her title? No, even we are comfortable calling her not even by her name but by a diminutive of her name, thereby playing into the perception that she is not really as qualified or deserving of our respect as, say, Dr. Kissinger was—ever hear him referred to casually as “Henry” in the press?

I suggest that we all start referring to her in a respectful manner, using her title. It will make the contrast between us and the loonies more visible, and send the message that this is a highly qualified person appointed to one of the most prestigious positions in the land precisely because of those qualifications.
