Not to minimize the serious flaws in his character, for which there is redemption, but the whole story seems now rather silly since this is old news and should already have been factored in by the voters.

But what I believe is truly damaging for Gingrich is his “embrace of Alvin Toffler’s Third Wave Futurism.” (See amnation.com/vfr/archives/021106.html) The vision of these futurists is that globalism will replace nationalism, i.e. the nation-state will become a thing of the past as people move freely across the globe as citizens of the world to find work wherever they’re needed. And that’s only a summary. We really should be vetting our candidates better and not getting so caught up with these “scandals.”
