Lest any Obamabot come back with the canard of blue states subsidizing red states, if you look at individual tax return data, it’s actually highly-compensated and more conservative “red” individuals who pay those taxes. E.g. 50% of NYC city income tax is paid by 1% of the people in NYC. How do you think that 1% votes? Sure, some of them are limousine liberals, but most of them aren’t. And if they are, let ‘em stay behind and pay even more taxes. Heck if I care.
