Among the greatest ironies of our time is the name “Democratic Party.” Nowhere else in politics — not even among the outright Communists — can one find such disdain for the democratic processes and procedures the Founders instituted to protect freedom from the designs of too-clever men.

An Andrew Klavan video of some weeks ago rightly characterized the Democrats’ response to any sort of dissension or criticism as “Shut Up.” That’s a perfect summary of their rhetorical stance — and it’s perfectly emblematic of their attitude toward the American people and the American constitutional system. If there’s an entry in the Guinness Book of World Records for “Highest Observed Arrogance,” the corporate record holder can only be the Democratic Party of the United States.
