Our Sen. Snowe is the high priestess of Bipartisanship, she can’t get through a paragraph that doesn’t contain that happy-making noun. Yet she is Sen. Olympia Snowe (Rep., Maine), not Sen. Olympia Snowe (BiP, Maine) and knows how to talk Republican to a Republican audience. Clearly, there must be a principled distinction between the parties. Until that is clarified it is not possible to delineate the areas where the two can agree.
