Now if you go back to Ayers September 11, 2001 New York Times interview about bombing Ayers actually said this:

Yet yesterday, Barack Obama was still claiming to Bill O’Reilly that Bill Ayers is just a guy from his neighborhood who is a teacher. The fact is Obama had a lot more connection to Ayers that is being let on, Ayers helped him get jobs, they served on a board together for several years and Ayers helped promote Barack Obama in the Chicago Democratic Machine (early on when Obama was an outsider in Chicago).
