How he does it: Barack Obama shares his methods of escape

nick,

You know, one thing that gets me every time is when people start raising the “they want to teach creationism”/”they’ll try to push their religion on everybody” memes when referring to Republicans who have no qualms admitting they are religious or subscribe to any faith. I have yet to see any evidence that that has actually happened. One of the most liberal states in the country, Massachusettes, was governed by Mitt Romney, a Mormon. I can’t remember reading anything about him foisting his religion off on the people of Massachusettes. Oh, that’s right, because he didn’t.

Similarly, as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin hasn’t been trying to foist her religion off onto the people of Alaska. She’s asked questions, made statements, but never has she tried to pass policy mandating her constituents follow her religious creed. If she had she would not enjoy an 80%+ approval rating.

I would like to know why the idea of having discussions regarding evolution vs. creationism/intelligent design is so scary to people. Evolution is, after all, still just a theory. I’d like to know when it was that science stopped at one theory about anything. I thought the scientific method involved trying and proving/disproving several theories before arriving at what is considered scientific law. Evolution is NOT scientific law and so is fair game for questioning. Oh, wait, sorry; it’s as off-limits as Obama.

Before you go swinging wide, strawman arguments you might want to check your facts. I’ve known way more open-minded conservatives than liberals. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that conservatives have jobs, which means they have real things to think about, whereas liberals are easily bored by their “spoon-feed me” lifestyles.

And no, I will not change your diaper. But I’m sure Obama would be happy to help you with that.
