I agree. The Left earns a disproportionate share of its day-to-day income from the entitlement state’s appropriations from the private sector. There is little chance that rational discussions of principle will persuade them to give up their income stream just because the Constitutional principle of limited government. There is no way to persuade someone, whose entire training and professional value lies in the expansion of the role of the state, not to expand the role of the state.

As you say, the only viable alternative is for those who do believe in that principle and want to live by it to remove themselves from living under the same sphere of governance as those who derive their sustenance from the violation of that principle.
