Roger,

Ernie Pyle, George Killenberg, Carl Bernstein. Not just names. Names of great newspaper people. They’d dig like crawdads for the truth of their stories, and let the chips fall where they may.

But as far as the newspaper business works in 2008, honest, hard working, fair minded reporters mostly only inhabit the much smaller newsrooms of today.

Unlike papers such as the Washington Post NY Times and Chicago Tribune, they don’t possess the resources to really dig for a story.

Today’s big time editors and writers don’t want to discover the truth unless it serves their left leaning political agenda, especially when it comes to Presidential Politics.

In the Obama/McCain race, 90% of the major newspaper people, rather than trying to write the news, have a similar agenda to TV people like Brian Williams, Oprah and David Letterman, who are consciously trying to elect Barack.

Which is why they won’t dig for information that puts Obama in a bad light. Conversely, they’ll rush like a gold miner in 1849 to find facts that put Republicans like Sarah Palin in the worst light possible. Dan Rather pushed his anti-Republican obsession so far, he got caught making up the news. And became an embarrassment that made him expendable.

Folks, unfortunately, fairness, honesty and truth, for the most part, have been relegated to the back burner of the large newspaper business. In fact, the light of truth is so dim sometimes you wonder if it’s still burning.

Stories about Obama’s cocaine use? When he last smoked? If he’d pass a drug test today?
What he heard in the pews when Wright was spewing his hate? How much money he was responsible for spreading around to terrorist groups headed by Bill Ayers? I could go on and on with questions the American public deserves an answer to.

The harsh truth is: the mainstream media isn’t the slightest bit interested in finding out anything negative about Barack Obama. They’re interested in electing him.

Think somebody like Maureen Dowd wants to find negative things out about Obama? What she cares about is getting invited to the brown eyed handsome man’s victory celebration.

An invitation to disaster.
