I honestly believe things will get much worse before (if) they get better. People can get used to anything. Remember Hillary Clinton’s HMO plan when it was first implemented? That raised a lot of ire in a lot of people because, same argument we’re hearing today, bean counters would be making medical decisions rather than medical professionals. Yet HMOs went into effect and are still around. People got used to the system. They’ll get used to the next change in the system because, like it or not, people are sheep.

Historically this is the case. All throughout human history, tyrants have arisen and invoked many unjust, wicked policies intended to exert total control over populations. Often these policies included the wholesale slaughter of political opponents. The populations got used to the tyrants, mainly because they had no other alternative: get in line or die.

In our own country, people constantly gripe about the unfair taxation systems installed by the political elite. New taxes are invoked and people gripe yet pay.

Eventually, people get used to anything and will put up with anything, mainly because of self-preservation instincts. Some may call it moral cowardice. Aside from a few willing to speak out, most will just get in line.
