BarryBarry,
I was interested in your continued interest in Dr. Rossiter’s book, and took some time to look more into it. Though I haven’t read it yet, I researched it on the internet.

It appears, though Dr. Rossiter definitely writes from a “conservative” perspective, this book talks alot about the general psychology of “affinity” … what makes a person identify with certain groups to the exclusion of factual knowledge which may disturb his/her sense of affinity.

Though he uses liberalism as a template, I read that in the book he rather fairly applies his findings to any affinity group, rather they be political (both left and right) or religious or ethnic.

In short, “Political Madness”, according to Dr. Rossiter, can/does exist equally across the political spectrum. You’ve chosen to selectively present only certain excerpts to support your contention of “Liberal Madness”.
