Obama finished his testimony at the oracle by highlighting the essential American spirit -the ‘something’ that makes us special. I turned my attention to the screen because I often wonder; to what do progressives attribute America’s economic and cultural success? Apparently, he sees the American essence as a mystical entitlement; sort of like manifest destiny or God’s elect, rather than having anything to do with a limited government built around the defense of liberty. Somehow he thinks that this 8% of the world’s population would fare even better if we had a european style of government…

Now I wonder if he sees his own candidacy as the course of destiny.
